A Negroni. Equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth, with an orange twist.
I used St George Dry Rye gin. I bought it on a whim because it seemed interesting and I like rye.
Good God, it made an awful martini. But it makes an awesome Negroni. The peppery flavors that make for such a bad martini and worse gin and tonic really do well with the sweet vermouth and bitter Campari.
Then we had mussels for dinner with sourdough and Unibrou Fin Du Monde.
An outstanding pairing. A belgian style triple with mussels. In fact, I have decided to save my last bottle for the next time we have mussels.
Kinja willing, all the pics will post.
