Zack Snyder has finally weighed in on the greatest question of the summer; how many innocent Metropolitans were killed during the climatic battle scene in Man of Steel?

According to Snyder, the toll was much less than was estimated by the disaster analysts at Watson Technical Consulting.

"Probably 5,000 people or something like that, I mean I imagine. That’s a horrible thing to say. You don’t want to put numbers on it. But you had to imagine that there were people in these buildings and we did. And I’ve got to say that for me that was part of it. We were like, ‘No, there’s real consequences.’"

That's a bit off from the 129,000 that Watson Technical Consulting estimated. Maybe, the smaller death toll will help Batman and Superman be besties faster in the sequel.
