The world-famous Getty Museum in Los Angeles hosted a talk today with Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton to discuss the influences medieval art has on her costumes and to share some secrets behind her clothes (such as the Night’s Watch fur capes being made of IKEA rugs).

The video below is actually fairly long, but I think it’s worth a watch if you are fascinated with costume production, speculative clothing design, or applied art history in general.

There are other videos of events hosted by the Getty Museum, but I thought O-deck would find this one particularly interesting. If you would like to skip directly to Ms. Clapton talk, click on this link or skip to ~23:30 mark.
