As you may know, Disney is much to blame for the multiple extensions of the Copyright limits, so much so that the Copyright Term Extension Act is unofficially called the Mickey Mouse Protection Act. But give the current Act, Mickey’s protection will end in 2023 and he will suffer the unbearable fate of falling into the bottomless pit called Public Domain. Now Walt Disney is a small family led company with hardly any influence on politics or money to waste, so - who is top pay for the unavoidable attempt to extend Copyright Laws once more and protect the Mouse and his fictitious companions from becoming a part of your common, shared cultural heritage as it was meant to be? Well, the Disney employees, of course. You really can’t expect the company to pay for this BS from their own funds!!
