Hello again! Still feeling somewhat (but not altogether) ooky, so I’m going to try to knock this installment out before I get to your comments on “R”!

The problem with “S” is going to be what to put in and what to leave for you guys! There’s just so much! (Tomorrow should be similar with “T”.)

Let’s get to it...

S is for Squeeze

Chris Difford and Glenn Tillbrook were the Lennon and McCartney of the 80s, and it’s a crime they were not more popular State-side! The problem was deciding on just one Squeeze song to embed here. I finally chose this track off 1980's Argybargy album, because I love the song and the video features original keyboardist Jools Holland being gloriously goofy.

MTV addicts will more likely remember the Elvis Costello-produced “Tempted” from East Side Story featuring Paul Carrack (of “How Long?” fame), or 1982's “Black Coffee In Bed”. Another favorite of mine is this track from 1985's Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti.

S is also for Styx

“I am the Modrin Man!”

It’s become uncool to like Styx — fie to that, I says! Sure, they were cheesy, but the whole decade was rather cheesy. The song was also used to hilarious effect in this Volkswagen commercial.

Well, I’m pooped now! Carry on as usual! ;)
