The popular horror anthology show will return for a sixth season in 2016.

I’ve never watched the show myself but I know it has a good sized following around here so I figured you guys would want to hear the news. It looks like the show is doing pretty well in both awards and ratings for FX.

The first four installments of the FX series earned 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 wins, including five for fourth installment Freak Show. The fifth entry, Hotel, is pacing ahead of all prior installments. In fact, through its first four episodes, Hotel is 7 percent ahead of Freak Show among adults 18-49 and 1 percent among total viewers. The Hotel premiere marked the second-most-watched telecast in FX Networks history, behind only the premiere episode of AHS: Freak Show.

Ryan Murphy, the shows producer, is also working on Scream Queens for Fox and the FX TV movie American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. I read the preview for that one over at Jez and it looks high-larious.
