Yesterday, Seattle mayor Ed Murray temporarily re-named Seattle's City Hall to Kitty Hall, participating in an effort to raise awareness of the work done by the Seattle Animal Shelter and their foster volunteers.

All of the kittens that spent some time at Kitty Hall are currently being fostered, and all are currently available for adoption. For an hour at noon, there was an interactive kitty exhibit open for the public to view and play with adoptable kittens, though it was not possible to adopt them on-site.

There was even an official mayoral proclamation issued to announce the temporary name change:

The kittens explored Kitty Hall and made some high-ranking friends with officials and news media.
