NASA's streaming rock station is really fucking good

Third Rock Radio is clearly another avenue for NASA to engage a younger, hipper audience or as their press release classifies them, "tech-savvy young adults". But unlike most clumsy PR campaigns focused on this coveted demographic, Third Rock Radio is a pretty damn respectable alt/indie rock station.

NASA has partnered with a company called RFC Media to produce Third Rock Radio. According to Pat Fant, RFC Media co-founder and chief operating officer who directs the station:

"We've pulled out the best songs and the deepest tracks from a full spectrum of rock artists across many styles and decades. NASA features and news items are embedded throughout the programming alongside greetings by celebrity artists."

I just heard a greeting from Bill Nye that went directly into Open Up by The Dead Weather. That's good radio in my book.
