Patrick Ness has tweeted that he will not be writing any more episodes of Doctor Who spin-off Class even if it receives a second season. In the UK, the adventures of the Coal Hill Gang were part of the BBC Three online channel experiment but failed to attract an audience any bigger than Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Arrow and Westworld. A late night broadcast on BBC1 was marked by poor performance compared to other shows in that time slot.

The show has been widely touted as having been cancelled in the UK although Executive Producer Steven Moffat has publicly denied this.

BBC America has just finished screen the eight-episode series and Ness says they love it.
