The Madness brackets make their triumphant return. We took April off, but now we’re back, and this time around we’re answering the question, which decade had the greatest cartoon theme song? It’s a battle between the 1980s and the 1990s, and it’s your votes that will decide.
Yep, it’s a battle between the 80s and 90s. Without doubt these two decades represent the golden age of cartoons and cartoon theme songs. I have no doubt that there will be many debates about what didn’t get included that should, what got included that shouldn’t, and about what went where, but all sales are final and this is what we’ve got to work with.
This is where I explain how this bracket came to be and to explain the rankings. The original idea was to do a bracket for the best cartoons, but then that turned into a list too huge to whittle down. So it was switched to theme songs, but that list was also quite large. So it was decided that the focus would be on the two greatest decades for cartoons, the 1980s and the 1990s.
The rankings were given quite a bit of thought, but it’s still a rather loose system. You’ll probably disagree with how everything is ranked, but it’s all subjective so that’s gonna happen no matter how it turns out.
As you will have noticed, you can listen to each theme song on each poll to help you decide.
