You guys are probably sick of hearing about the stem cell scandal, but I am following this story through to its bitter end.

Obokata has finally agreed to retract one of her two Nature papers. Interestingly, the paper to be retracted is not the one that led her to be found guilty of misconduct. She is still sticking to the claim that stem cells can be made through inducing stress. Instead, she has agreed to retract the companion paper, which showed that the STAP cells could form placental tissues.

In the end, I wouldn't be surprised if both papers end up retracted, with or without her agreement.
