This was always going to happen, let’s admit that right now. The New 52 was always going to happen. For the past 60 years, since the creation of the second Flash, DC Comics has relied on the universal reboot as a means of staying fresh and keeping their fictional superhero universe up to date. Every reboot begins a…
Spoiler warning for Batgirl #49.
Good morning and welcome to the biggest sink of your time and money that you’ll see anywhere on Kinja today. Yes, it’s time to find out what comics are on sale digitally this weekend!
I’m quickly becoming a big fan of the Supergirl TV show. I love that they’ve started taking risks and diving into the wider DC mythology with the introduction of Martians (both green and white), Bizarro, adapting the Alan Moore story “For The Man (Girl) Who Has Everything,” and soon to bring in Brainiac 8. Not to…
Trans characters in comics are still far and few between despite the growing visibility and awareness of transgender people in the world. Still today’s release of Batgirl #45 was a hallmark for having the first trans character getting married in comics. But this week was a great week in comics not just for that, but…
Good morning all, and sorry I missed you yesterday. Monday work insanity, you get the picture. All you missed was a Deathlok sale that was kinda meh. However, DC Comics started a sale this morning so massive that I couldn’t hold it until Friday.
So recently, there's been a kerfuffle over the "Joker Variant" cover of Batgirl #41. DC has been doing monthly variants for most of its comics and this month, the theme was the Joker. Unfortunately, the variant cover they chose for Batgirl didn't exactly match the fun tone that the book conveys. In fact, it was pretty…
DC Comics, along with artist Rafael Albuquerque, have announced today that the Joker variant cover for Batgirl #41 has been pulled. The cover was released
in February last Friday and caused quite a stir. While it was meant to be an homage to the graphic novel, The Killing Joke, many thought it was disturbing. …
It's time for the annual Batgirl/Supergirl Christmas comic by Mike Maihack. These comics are always adorable, and this time is no exception. And there's a surprise cameo!
It's become a holiday tradition that Mike Maihack gives us a new Batgirl/Supergirl comic on Halloween. The comics are always adorable, and this time is no exception. And we get a new character! Streaky the Cat! Did I mention this was adorable? Cause this is clearly adorable.
Because I thought it was pretty awesome, and I'm really excited to see more from the new creative team... But at the same time, I feel like all the discussion I heard about this book happened before the actual book came out.
If you've seen Mike Maihack's series of Batgirl/Supergirl webcomics, you're clearly a fan. Because who wouldn't be? It's possible there are comics that are more adorable, but you would have to look pretty hard to find them. And they'd probably include a baby sloth hugging a baby panda while riding a wave kittens.
Supergirl went all Red Lantern on Batgirl and is feeling the RAGE. Adorably.
In what has now become a seasonal tradition for artist Mike Maihack, we see how Batgirl and best pal, Supergirl, spend the holidays in these adorable mini-comics.
Candy wins out every time. Mike Maihack of Cleopatra in Spaaace! fame shared another one of his delightful Batgirl and Supergirl comics today. Sometimes I despair Supergirl will never come to take her role as a crime fighter seriously.
Rewatching Batman animated series (all of them...) and came across a great bit with Barbara Gordon. (at 4:28)
CLASSIC BATMAN FOOTAGE!
Looks great on the set, but reality may make some costume designs impractical.
