Hey did you know that io9 and Kotaku are having their 2nd Annual Cosplay Ball in 12 days? It is an event that is held in conjunction with New York Comic Con which this year runs October 5-8. It’s the 2nd annual because there was one last year. Here’s the coverage that io9 and Kotaku gave it last year:
a daughter of an acquaintance of mine since the Fidonet times, won the first prize at the FAN EXPO ODESSA 2017:
I haven’t been taking many cosplay photos this year. Too many sites are doing a more exhaustive job of catching every interesting and halfway interesting costume than I can. So far I’ve only stopped two people to ask if I could take their picture.
And you can watch it online and live right here:
Day two of Comic Con was a blast! Here are some of my photos from the days adventures. My partner and I went as Steampunk Mario and Princess Peach. Now ThunderCats, Hooo!
North America’s second largest anime convention, Anime North, was last weekend and over 30000 anime fans joined the fun. Among them were endless hordes of cosplayers showing off their efforts. Though it was impossible to capture them all, AniTAY has collected an assortment of those that caught our eyes. Enjoy.
It’s always amazing to see people cosplay. I’m hoping to join them one day, but I’d have to do some serious thinking about who or what to cosplay. This was a great turnout and some awesome costumes. Everyone did such a great job! As always, I try to be very considerate when taking photo at cons. If they are in a line,…
I saw these two at IzumiCon in Oklahoma Coty this weekend and thought you guys would get a kick out of it.
The strip on his right hip reads, ‘There is no sex in USSR’ - a famous quote from the early years of post-Soviet freedom of speech, when at a TV bridge with the US, a Russian woman said this. The strip on his left shoulder reads, ‘Cleanliness is precondition for good health’ — this adage was traditionally plastered…
I ran across some sewing patterns that a few of you might find interesting.
As this 68 year old from Singapore is happy to show. Stories like this make me not be worried about being the weird old guy at the con when I reach senior citizen age.
Four days of Wizard World, three days spent taking photos. I missed several costumes because I couldn’t remember if I’d taken their photo or there were just too many of that one character (I’m looking at you Deadpool). Though, there was one (Terra from Teen Titans) I saw, I wanted to photograph, but I couldn’t find…
There’s cosplaying as Korra, and then there’s “oh man look at this it looks like she’s actually waterbending while cosplaying as Korra”.
We walked around San Diego Comic-Con 2015 for 10 hours over the course of two days with YouTuber Lauren Francesca, whose alter-ego is Space Girl, to get a glimpse into what the Comic-Con experience is like for a female cosplayer.
This last weekend, on June 6-7, Ukraine finally got its first ComicCon. It took place in Kyiv, in the Ukrainian House (which used to be a Lenin Museum during the Soviet times and in the winter of 2014 hosted Free University of Maidan during the Revolution of Dignity).
I live in Los Angeles, but this past weekend I made the trek up to Fresno because my friends of the Fresno Zombie Society were putting on Comic Crawl 2015 — basically a 12-stop bar-hopping party in Fresno’s Tower District. Dressed up in your comic/genre finest.
Hello again everyone! I’m back with some more great cosplay from this past weekend at Anime North. If you missed the first part, or my review of the con, you’ll find them below. I’ll also be back one final time with the last set of cosplayers. Enjoy!
Cosplay comes in many forms; the weird, the wild, and the wondrous. The only thing that remains the same across all is the creative effort that everyone puts into their design.
Cats poop in it.
