Twitter at its worst can be a truly dark place, filled with Nazis, trolls, and the incoherent ranting of a tangerine Mussolini, but it is also home to some quite amazing little pockets of wonder…

A number of creators have put their code and image skills to work producing accounts that gather, generate and post artwork. These can act as tools for other creators (some of these make for great fiction prompts) or just beautiful things in their own right.

My personal favourite image generation account, created and maintained by a cartographer, this is a great source for writers, and also a beautiful thing to look at on its own.
