This has probably already been covered here at some point and I missed it but was amazed to find out this morning that The Watcher in the Woods has been remade as a Lifetime movie. On top of that, other than that it stars Angelica Huston as Mrs. Aylwood (and probably a bunch of Canadian folks who we will sort of recognize*), in consideration of it being a Halloween release it was directed by a witch ... I mean Melissa Joan Hart.

I think I am looking forward to it. Just to be clear I have no problem with (depending on how you look at it) the movie being remade or Florence Randell’s novel being re-adapted because, though I liked some parts of the original movie, I was not the biggest fan of the first adaptation. I was just caught off guard by Lifetime being behind it (though they did do the vamped up Mother May I Sleep With Danger remake last year). Anyway, the movie is set to air in October on Lifetime.

The trailer to the original adaptation if anyone is interested (also, if anyone knows, is that Percy Rodriguez doing the voice over?).

*Trying to make a weak joke. I have no idea where it was filmed I just guessed with it being a Lifetime movie it was shot in Vancouver.
