BBC One and FX announced earlier today that they will team up with producers Ridley Scott’s Scott Free London and Tom Hardy’s Hardy Son & Baker for a second series of Taboo. Created by Steven Knight with Tom Hardy and Chips Hardy, Taboo has ruled the roost on the on demand scene with viewing figures averaging between 5.8 and seven million.

Word of mouth appears to have driven a coveted audience of young adults to use the catch-up service to watch Tom Hardy growl his way through a murky 19th Century London scarred by conspiracies of The East India Company.

“In series two, Tom and Steve and the show’s brilliant producers are promising something daring, different but equally unmissable,” says one time Doctor Who producer Piers Wenger who is Controller BBC Drama.
