According to Neil Gaiman's blog, Freemantle Entertainment, who for better or worse have brought us the recent remake of The Tomorrow People, have finalized a deal to adapt his award-winning novel American Gods (and presumably the sequel he's writing) into an American TV series. While it's still early days yet, Neil seems to think it stands a much better chance of making it onto our screens under their umbrella than it did with HBO.

In the same blog post, he also mentions that Anasi Boys is being adapted as a miniseries for the BBC by Red, who have produced a number of Russel T. Davies projects and the sexy-time haunted apartment block series Bedlam.
