Have you ever sent a text to someone it wasn’t meant for? Was it highly embarrassing? Then this song, from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s upcoming episode “That Text Was Not Meant For Josh!”, is for you.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, if you haven’t heard yet, is a show on the CW about Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom), a highly successful lawyer from New York who quits her job and moves out to West Covina, California, after she runs into her ex-boyfriend Josh Chan and realizes
she loves him she needs a change. It’s also a musical and features such great songs as “Women Gotta Stick Together” and “Put Yourself First.” (It also won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.) (Also, I just realized that Rachel Bloom also played Lucy in Charlie Brown: Blockhead’s Revenge, which means I need to watch it again.)
“That Text Was Not Meant For Josh!” will air on Monday and appears to be about the double-edged sword of technology (thus making this article totally on topic for Observation Desk). I mean, did you hear the ghost of Steve Jobs?
“You fools! It doesn’t matter what it’s called. That’s right, it’s me, the ghost of Steve Jobs. What matters is that I control your lives from the grave! Technology is slowly alienating everyone from their loved ones, ha ha ha ha. And when you send a few words to the wrong recipient, and it immediately destroys your life, that’s called a messagepocalypse!”
Get out of here, Steve Jobs! Textcuse me!
