The sun has exploded and the Earth will be destroyed in 30 minutes. What do you do with your remaining time? This is the question Greg Thelen's project 30 Minutes to Live asks with a series of short stories.
The project started December 2013 and just finished today with 10 comics, 10 pages each, about a variety of different people and their reactions to the end of the world. According to the author,
This project has been swirling around in my head for several years now. The basic idea: how would people react to the end of the world? I think most people would say they'd hug their loved ones and tell them how much they mean to them, and this is certainly true. But what if you had no time to do that? What if you were separated from your loved ones? What would you do if you were at the last place you wanted to be? That interested me. I wrote dozens of stories for this anthology, revising the length, format, and even the method of armageddon over the last five years until I came to these 10 stories.
Other than the sun exploding, the stories are not interconnected at all. The tone and graphicness vary a lot between each story, and the art does as well, with each artist bringing their own style. Some of the stories can be graphically violent and at least one is NSFW.
My favorite had to be the last one, Home, though I won't spoil the why. You should check it out! It is short so makes a quick read.
Edit: It looks like the site is down for now, maybe due to traffic? Hopefully it will be back soon.
