A Perfect Manhattan.

“Perfect” is a specific recipe, not a value judgement. I used 2 jiggers, one pony (3.25 oz) of Jefferson’s Very Small Batch Bourbon with one pony each (3/4 oz) Carpano Antica and Carpano Bianco vermouth and one dropper Bittercube Cherry Bark Bitters with 1/2 dropper Bittercube Orange bitters.

I prefer a Manhattan with all sweet vermouth, but I bought the Carpano Bianco looking for a good dry vermouth and I don’t like it, so I am trying to get rid of it. Slowly.

If anybody can recommend a good dry vermouth for Martinis, I am open to suggestion. The usual suspects like Dolin, Noilly Pratt and Martini and Rossi are fine, but I am looking to elevate my game like I have with Carpano Antica, Punt y Mes, or Vya for sweet vermouths. I may try Carpano Dry next, it has to be better than the way too sweet and floral Bianco.
