The title for Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary-special has been revealed, along with its running time! Don't click if you don't want to know...
Alright. 23rd of November will as of now be known as... "THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR". It's a short day, however, running 75 minutes.
So, let's commence theorizing. "The Day of..."-films are typical in science fiction, with the titular alien/person typically being the threat (The Day of the Triffids). So is The Doctor going to be the threat this time around? We already know there will be multiple Doctors, with Hurt possibly being the villain, so I'd say it's a good bet.
The title does seem something like The Doctor's greatest triumph, so my bet is that it won't be as dark and foreboding as "The Name of the Doctor", but more of a romp. We'll see The Doctor face himself, his worst enemy, his own evil, and win!
In addition, "The Day of the Daleks" is the title of an arc opening Doctor Who's ninth season, so maybe we'll see some Daleks along with The Doctors? Would be fitting, especially if Hurt is the Doctor responsible for the Time War-stuff... What will he do if he learns they've escaped?
Then again, Moffat has said that he won't focus on the other Time Lords or the Time War (I think), so perhaps they have something rather different in store. If Moffat isn't lying again.
Anyway, what do you think?
