Back in August NASA made a public request for white papers regarding possible new uses for the Kepler telescope. Although the spacecraft is down to 2 reaction wheels and can't point precisely enough to continue its original exoplanet-hunting mission, NASA hopes to put it to some other use. The 42 responses NASA received cover many aspects of astrophysical science, planetary science and even studies of methods to squeeze out better photometry from the data. The white papers have been made public and can be read at Kepler Science Center. The Kepler team will send a proposed plan for two wheel operation of the Kepler spacecraft to NASA headquarters by Nov. 1.
