There is a seasonal tradition in the UK and Commonwealth countries that seems truly alien according to some ODeckers. But if you can’t unshackle those puritan misconceptions and laugh a little at this time of year, then there’s no hope for the world. Nothing is so guaranteed to bond friends and family as the crass…
Can a game be too British? Turns out, no. Not yet, anyway.
So hey, the first Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer was just released. I liked it! I mean, it felt like Spider-Man, so that was good. It has some great fighting scenes, some great funny scenes, and holy hell Michael Keaton’s Vulture is scary as fuck. But, in addition, it also featured a nice Easter Egg for eagle-eyed (or…
Welcome to the mid-season finale of this fun and bonkers show! Today we might be getting Smart back? I haven’t watched the trailer but I searched for images of this episode and I found several snarty pictures. Let us react.
Since I’ve seen no mention of this in Morning Spoilers on io9 or elsewhere in the Gawkerverse, I thought I’d share it with the class.
John Glenn, an aviation legend and the first American astronaut to orbit the Earth, died this afternoon at the age of 95.
I’ve enjoyed this season of Westworld and I’m looking forward to the next one in 2018 (the gap presumably needed to negotiate the rights to another four Radiohead songs) but one thing bothered me throughout the series...was “recreate the old west” really the best thing Arnold and Ford could think of?
Hi everybody, today we welcome our sports loving friends at Gawrker(formerly sidespin) into the fold. Welcome to the weekly Whitenoise, Hackerspace, Groupthink, Powder Room, Odeck, Tay, Oppo, Backtalk, Clashtalk, CrossTalk, & Gawrker cross thread. What are you excited for this upcoming holiday season?
I used to be a time traveller, but that’s all in the future now. It should be noted that the first time travel story of the modern age is also a Christmas story. Some might say it is also the Christmas story.
Guitarist Greg Lake has passed away after “a long and stubborn battle with cancer.” He was 69.
Well. Happy for everyone except for Rudolph and company who apparently got replaced by much more reliable robotdeers this year. I’m sure they have fog lamps instead of red noses.
Morning Odeck & welcome to a Creative Challenge that I almost didn’t get round to because I’m running late & have to go out soon. If you feel like it I’d like at least 40 words about any of the images inside.
So last night’s The Flash was what I would call entertaining-interesting-bullshit. I will post a mini recap later on the night to compensate for the lack of the reaction thread last night. Meanwhile let’s react to Arrow’s mid-season finale! We are also about to witness some wishy-washy logic defiant thing. But in an…
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has placed 26 000 cattle under quarantine in Alberta and Saskatchewan after cases of bovine TB have been found since late September. At least 10 000 of these cattle will have to to be destroyed, because they may have had a point of contact with the 6 known cases.
“Jingle bells / Batman kills / Robin got filet’d / The Batmobile / Lost its wheel / And careened into the bay / killing untold hundreds of overworked fishermen hoping to make it in Gotham the city that never sleeps and hates everyone while the Cops are corrupt and everything is on fire and awful and gritty HAY.”
Back again with another two episodes from season six. The former a good resolution to Maybourne’s character arc while the latter is a generic filler episode.
This week’s episode was the end of the Ghost Rider arc, but hopefully not the end of Ghost Rider in the MCU. Robbie was my favorite on-screen Ghost Rider (once you get through the nostalgia of Declaration of Independence and Ford Mustang thief Johnny Blaze) and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for that guy…
Hello and welcome to WednesdayBookClub, everyone. My name is Geesejuggler and I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in a good second so this book club might be a bit loopy. Let’s go!
