You might be familiar with the sepulchral tones of the disembodied Martians who will be waging war against Earth in 2067. But do you recall the days when the main nemesis of the Mysterons was a lone reporter working at a comic with a taste for Mary Poppins, Super Goof and The Man from UNCLE? No?
Today, 30 years ago, a company called “CompuServe” (If you’re really internet old, you may rememberer that name) published the specifications for the Graphics Interchange Format. Not for the internet, which didn’t really exist yet - not as we know it - but for CompuServe’s closed services. The first ever published GIF…
I think its fairly good casting although wasn’t XMen 3 loosely based on Dark Phoenix and didn’t original story take place in mid80s not 1991? Kudos for trying it appears to stick with original storyline at least.
As by CineFix, the people who make this top 10 anything in movie videos. ;) Not mine, even though of course some match and some don’t. The number 1 is - a predictable pick. (Although not fully undisputed - I for one did fall asleep while I first watched it, but I love it now. It’s an acquired taste...)
Now that’s full-flavour behaviour, to borrow a phrase. Stout might be the traditional drink to accompany Oysters but London firm Bio-bean is touting a future where coffee grounds fuel the capital’s fleet of iconic red double-decker buses. Hopefully the caffeine-buzz buses will smell better than Bromley Council’s chip…
They like their fun quizzes at Radio Times. Just the kind of light diversion to make you feel young at two-hearts. Can they guess your age based on some Doctor Who questions? OK, I’m game. And the answer is ... what!!! No! Wait ...

Its going to be a side scroller, yay. Super Metroid was the second best side scroller ever with Castlevania Symphony of Night number one. This will be a reimigining of Metroid 2 which was a Gameboy game. Graphics in the gameboy game were horrible to today standards and to me meh even then.

An original series of books inspired by Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror will be published by Ebury Publishing imprint Del Rey in the US and Penguin Random in the UK.
The stakes seem to be getting higher on Twin Peaks as several characters seem to be trapped, unable to move forward. I identified last week a theme of victimised children and that’s certainly become even more prominent this week. Along with this, issues of identity and the line between innocence and guilt are being…
The article published today looks not just at Batman and other caped superheroes but the history of secret identities in Jewish history it also links in about how Jewish children must have felt during this era and Nazi Germany.
