We now have three primary antagonists on Agents of Shield that are all 'working' with each other. Each is creepy and terrible.

Whitehall is an obvious power hungry sociopath. Ward is definitely an irredeemable psychopath. The Doctor is out for revenge and to reunite with his child and will scorch the earth to get what he wants.

The funny thing is, The Doctor is portrayed as a kind of disheveled, scatterbrained guy. I could easily confuse that disorganized guy with his character (of himself) from Portlandia. Yet underneath that image of The Doctor you get to glimpse a calculating, sharp individual which adds the sinister layer.

The Doctor also gets some of the best lines. Like comic book type lines. Case in point from tonight's episode, while having an interaction with Coulson:

NOT REALLY SPOILERY, BUT SPOILER WARNING ALL THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO, PARAPHRASING HERE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE AN EIDETIC MEMORY.

The Doctor references the Obelisk/Diviner, that it isn't just a weapon that kills people by turning them to stone.

Coulson: So it is powerful, like the Tesseract?

The Doctor: Yes, (waits a beat) I don't know what that is.

The delivery was priceless.

Call it a testament to Kyle MacLachlan's acting skill. He is hitting my sweet spot for comic book villains brought to the screen.
