I am a board certified medical oncologist (a real doctor - take that, trolls!) with 15 years experience in community practice so I may not have seen it all, but I have seen an awful lot of it. I can also answer questions about hematology (blood diseases) since I am trained for that too and do it every day, I just never took the boards because I didn't have to. I am not a researcher, but I have a tenuous grasp on a lot of the basic science behind the mechanisms of the diseases I treat and the drugs I use to treat them as well as some of what is on the horizon. I also like talking about the phenomenology of cancer or the philosophy of oncology if you are interested. I also watch a lot of TV and my wife has forbidden me from watching medical shows since I am constantly pointing out what they are doing wrong, so you can ask me about that to.
As the title says, ask me anything but free advice is worth what you pay for it and if you ask me anything medical I will probably begin and end with "see a doctor." I am going to be pretty busy during the day, so I may not get to questions until the evening but I will get to all of them and I will probably leave this thing opened through the weekend, which I will be working. So this conversation may feel like you are communicating by radio with the asteroid belt, but we'll get through it.
