Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks
Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks

I fully admit I stol-... I mean, 'borrowed' this idea from The Nerdist.com. If there was a second mix tape in Guardians of the Galaxy, what should be on it? SPOILERS BELOW THE BREAK!

OK, if you saw the movie, you know there IS a second tape. Right away, when Peter unwrapped the box and saw the tape, I started pondering what should be on it. Typically, people are suggesting massively obvious tunes (Kiss, Chicago, Eagles, blah blah blahhhhh...), but if you look at Vol. I, it's only a few huge 'hits' on it (Jackson 5, mainly) and a lot of one-hit wonders or lesser known tunes from established artists. (Bowie's deeper cut from Ziggy Stardust, "Moonaged Daydream", or Marvin Gaye teaming with Tammi Terrell for "Ain't No Mountain High Enough").

With that in mind, here's what I've come up with, based on less-obvious hit tunes from the 70's through the early 80's, plus referencing what seems to have been his mother's tastes in music. Adding in, of course, at least one bigger hit (ala the Jackson 5 tune)

(SIDE NOTE: Somebody also pointed out that the whole first mix is songs that essentially deal in lies: be they religious lies, romantic lies, etc. Interesting notion...)
