Apparently the Nigerian government has reached a cease fire with Boko Haram - and an agreement to #BringBackOurGirls. This news comes very near the 6-month anniversary of their kidnapping.
Of course, since the Nigerian's government inability to get its shit together and do something about the issue has been widely publicized, so some people are still skeptical.
The girls were kidnapped during a physics test in school while attempting to exercise their basic human right to education. Even if most of them of them are going to be returned to their families there's no telling exactly what they might have had to live through - forced marriages, servitude and other things.
I know Mika's post in the spring was massively popular, so I thought other ODeckers might be interested in this development. But do go read her post for the whole context of this and the developments since the kidnapping, in case you haven't been keeping up on it.
