On the front page, OrlonsFyre asks, "What is outside the observable universe?"

I thought this was an intriguing question. Since to me, the observable universe is a subset of The Universe. We are therefore forever trapped within the "observable universe." However, there is more universe out there. Its' light just hasn't had time to reach us yet, right? But I think the question is asking outside "our universe." If membrane theory is correct, then other universes, whole and self contained. How to test? Which of the four fundamental forces would be strong enough to pierce the void from one universe to the next? Gravity. IF it is possible to measure the overall direction of the galaxies in the universe, and not be random then maybe it could be inferred that something "outside" was attracting us. Like another universe.

Any ideas?
