Spoilers for a side-quest from Chapter Four of Bravely Default inside.

All right, I give up, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to damage Lord DeRosso (the vampire asterisk wielder). I've tried literally everything I can think of, and all of my attacks are doing 1hp damage to him, then he gravitas's, and insta-gibs my party.

I used the Stillness method to cheese the dragons because this sidequest is just terrible on its own merits, especially since it's essentially bogging down what should be the most tense part of the story yet, but I was still able to deal good damage to them, with DeRosso it's literally nothing.

Characters:

Edea - Level 53 - Templar/Spellfencer (been swapping her jobs around a lot, but keeping her melee based).

Tiz - Level 53 - Black Mage/Freelancer (for the examine, because I want to know what my enemy's health is).

Agnes - Level 53 - Spiritmaster/White Mage (Agnes has been my dedicated support/healer)

Ringabel - Level 53 - Black Mage/Time Magic (I've been swapping his secondary ability set around a lot too).

So yeah, I don't know what to do. Does DeRosso have some gimmick to his fight I'm missing? Am I just underleveled? I haven't felt underleveled for anything else, so far, but I literally can't hurt him. I've really been liking this game up to this side quest, but this is just extremely abysmal design, especially since the story stuff once you do get into DeRosso's castle (if you're willing to put up with the crappy dragon mini-quest) seems significant and well written. I'm honestly considering skipping the Vampire Asterisk entirely and just moving on past where I fought Braev in the main story.

I've been googling my "1 hp per attack" problem a lot, and I can't find anything. This is even happening with special attacks, even light-based ones (since I don't have access to light magic), so I don't know what's up.

Edit: I finally got it using the ninja method. The battle took about an hour. Ready for progress, now.
