If you’re still on the fence about subscribing to Marvel Unlimited, the comic book streaming service, and you’re a fan of Star Wars, this could get you on board.
No doubt because of all the excitement building up around Star Wars: The Force Awakens, thanks to the recent trailers, and maybe as a way to promote their new Star Wars comics, Marvel has added 500 of its Star Wars Legends comics to the Marvel Unlimited service.
And as part of this new addition, they’re also offering a month of free service, with checkout code STARWARS.
Because new issues on Marvel Unlimited aren’t available to stream until they’re 6 months old, we won’t be seeing the current Star Wars series just yet, but this makes it look pretty hopeful that we will start to see those a few months down the road, which is great.
And now for some screenshots. When you go into the Star Wars section, you’ll see different categories.
From there, you will be shown what stories are available. So for example, if you select Rise of the Rebels, you’ll see this (the screenshot is just the first two listed).
And if you select Darth Vader, you’ll get this (screenshot is the first two listed).
And if you’re already a Marvel Unlimited subscriber, you can feel even more overwhelmed with all that is available and how there’s probably more than you could read in your lifetime, even if you didn’t do anything else. For $70/year, it’s easily worth it, especially if you haven’t subscribed and can get that free month. Go there now to sign up.
Update: the selection also includes The Star Wars, the series based on the original script from George Lucas, previously offered by Dark Horse Comics. Which means since I’m still on issue #1 from that purchase, I kind of wasted my money. Oh well.
So it seems that both original Marvel published comics, and some of the comics previously published through Dark Horse are included.
