Creative Challenge: Writing Prompt!

I didn't read anything this week so being true to my word, I'm posting 2 challenges this week. This one will be a writing prompt and hopefully tomorrow or Saturday, I will post a picture one. At least 55 words and you can go as meta as you want!

"What do you mean by 'It just showed up'?" Peter ran his hands through his hair and groaned. "I mean, I woke up this morning, did my normal routine and everything and when I came out here, THIS WAS HERE!!" He shouted. He pointed down at the deep cavern in his backyard, his words echoing down it.

"You didn't hear anything weird last night? Any scurrying, any digging noises, any....?" Liv's voice died off as she tried to think of possibilies. Peter shook his head. "I didn't hear anything last night. Even if I did-." He was cut off by the sounds of Trenton running towards them. "Guys, I think something weird is going on." "You too?" He stopped to catch his breath, his face sweaty under his ballcap. "Yeah." He huffed. "Wait, something happened over here too?" Liv waved him closer to where they were standing. "Peter found this here this morning. No noises, no warning, nothing." Trenton peered down the well, his jaw slack.

"Wow. That might be weirder than my news." Without another word, he took off his hat. "But since I've never heard of anyone who was 100% Mexican suddenly waking up with a head full of red hair, I still win the Weird Off." The trio stared back from Trenton's hair to the well, their minds trying to find the answers. Liv gasped and clapped her hands. "Plot hole!"

"Argh!!!" The writer groaned, slapped his hand against his forehead. "What was I thinking, writing this?!" He highlighted a large potion of the paragraph and started anew. "I'm never going to finish this draft."
