Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks

Digital Comics On the Cheap- 3/18/2016

Today’s sales aren’t that shocking if you’ve been paying attention. So be prepared to be shocked!

To the surprise of no one, Frank Miller’s complete Daredevil run is on sale through the weekend.

My Recommendation: It’s 39 issues, and if you’re a Daredevil fan, this is a must-read. This includes the character-defining Elektra arc, Born Again (rightfully hailed as the best DD story of all time), and Man Without Fear, Miller’s take on Matt Murdock’s origin. So, yeah, if you’re a DD fan, all of it.

Best Value: It’s pretty much a straight 50%. However, unless you already own part of Born Again, I’d buy that in collection form rather than in singles.

Also- ten seminal Daredevil, Punisher, and Elektra collections are on sale until the end of the month. All of them are pretty amazing. I would say at a minimum get the two Waid collections and Born Again.

Image’s mega-hit Sex Criminals by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky is on sale through the weekend.

My Recommendation: This is a dirty dirty book. It’s about two people who can stop time when they orgasm and use that ability to commit crimes. It’s also pretty funny, and this is a good time to try it out. The first collection is pretty cheap, so give it a try today, and if you like it, buy the rest over the weekend.

Just remember, IT’S VERY NSFW. VERY. VERY.

Best Value: The collections are actually the same price as the singles when you break it down by issue, so it’s deuces.

Lastly, we have DC’s Legends of Tomorrow sale.

Now, before you get confused, this is for the anthology series, Legends of Tomorrow, not the TV show Legends of Tomorrow. Yup, there’s no way to not make that confusing, is there?

My Recommendation: Outsiders by Peter Tomasi (#15-25) is a solid pick, as is Firestorm 2004 by Dan Jolley. Overall though, I’d say save your pennies for the Superman/Batman sale that is sure to happen on Tuesday.

That’s really it that’s new this weekend. Go read some comics!
