The Season 12 finale of Face Off is upon us. The three finalists and their teams have their opportunity to fine tune their creations for Glenn’s haunted house experience and deal with the new twist thrown at them. Who will be crowned winner of Season 12? Results ahead.
We pick up right where we left off last week with McKenzie Westmore and Glenn Hetrick explaining some particulars of the additional character each finalist needs to create. The new characters will be human/insect hybrids in a hospital waiting room where the guests first enter the haunted house. To help with the extra work each finalist gets an additional team member so all twelve original contestants for this season are involved in the finale.
All three finalists incorporate the feedback from last episode into their revised designs and have two days to get everything ready for the real run through the haunted house (and the judging).
The judges and contestants watch the guests on monitors as they go through the house. Everyone is pleased with results as the guests shriek, scream, and jump back from the creatures.
This character wasn’t done by the contestants but I still want to give a shout-out to the ghost girl guide.
On the final stage the judges praise all three finalist but as is the way of things there can only be one. Andrew wins the challenge and the season. I agree with the judges on this call and think he was the most consistent artist this season.
Like James Bond, Face Off will return. I’ll see you then.
I won’t recap it but Syfy is airing a spin-off show called Game Face where former Face Off contestants compete each week in a modified form of the Gauntlet episodes for $10,000 cash.
As always, you can see galleries of this week’s designs, the contestants’ previous work and previous seasons here. Images in this post via screencap, the Syfy website and McKenzie Westmore’s Instagram account.
