Hello and welcome to the first #WednesdayBookClub on Nu-Deck! My name is Geesejuggler and I thought MythBri was going to do it but I haven't seen anything yet so onward we go!
Today's picture is a special one to me because this is the Central Library in my town!! The Benjamin Hooks Central Library is named after the Civil Rights Activist of the same and opened in 2006 (Roughly, I can't find it online and I don't remember). 4 stories of fun!
This past week, I read Anna and the French Kiss, a rather adorable YA books by Stephanie Perkins and loved it! Will it go out and change the world? No. Does it make me happy and smiley everytime I pick it up and look for more from the writer? Absolutely!! It was a great easy read that snuck-taught me a life lesson.
Right now, I'm reading The Pearl Wars by Nick James, the first book in the Skyship Academy series. I'm about 70 pages in and I like it so far. Instead of doing pages of worldbuillding, it just drops quick points about the things you need to know without really slowing down the pace. I might get started on Dodger or The Mysterious Benedict Society next but I'm not sure.
What about you all? What have we read?
