I'm not sure if I find this particularly appetising but WOW it looks gorgeous and it moves intriguingly... almost enticingly.
Artist Minsu Kim has designed some fascinating 'living food' as an exploration of "new culinary experiences through developments in synthetic biology". Inspired by recent bioengeneering feats such as the Medusoid artificial jellyfish, her creations of pulsating morsels and gently swaying tendrils are undoubtedly eye catching. Think Heston Blumenthal meets Salvador Dali meets David Cronenberg with a dash of H. R. Giger. Could this be the evolution of molecular gastronomy? Is this a taste of what our descendants will be eating as they dine with their interstellar guests?
