So it's been a busy day at Villa Ivriniel. I was in the backyard looking for spring ephemerals, and found this:
It's clearly some sort of little songbird leg bone, with a blue plastic ring around it. The ring says CU 87 Guelph, 0740. I live about 45 min away from Guelph, and the University of Guelph is known for its biological sciences programs.
I tried to report the band on reportband.gov but it wanted to know things that I couldn't possibly answer, like which leg the band was on (Who am I? Bones?). There did not seem to be anyway to get around this, so in the end, I called a Canadian Wildlife Service 1-800 number and reported the info.
I'll keep the Odeck posted on anything that comes out of this. :)
