So this is just a heads up, there's nifty new Inbox (app) by Google for Gmail. It is separate from Gmail and in no way affects things as per normal use (although I did spot something interesting that I hadn't noticed in the Inbox app that affected my Gmail one, although it's not a bad thing it just caught me by surprise).
Naturally, as with all things Google I'm game for early adoption and as has happened before I got my invite in no time flat after requesting one. I think they know by now to just give me one. : P
Today Google is rolling out (slowly but surely) the ability to give out three invites for others to try the app.
As for the app itself, there is a version for download available in the Play Store and once you're activated (which happens when you get a magical email in your inbox) you can login from the web too. For those of you living outside the United States you can download the app from APK Mirror here.
I'm digging on it so far, I'll probably do a proper write up of it sometime next week, although I am seeing some "Inbox by Gmail has crashed" messages here and there. Overall though I'm sold, on both the app and web interface. It just looks cleaner and the best way to describe it is by saying, "Think Google Now."
I've said it before but I'll say it again, Google Now is basically Google's way of presenting the information you want before you need it. Clean, simple and without the hulabaloo of having to work to hard to get it. Inbox by Gmail does that perfectly. It's organized and very easy to get the hang of despite the new overall look and interface (Material Design FTW!).
Anyway, that's all for now. I am feeling extra lazy today and this not too lengthy post has required what little energy I had left. (Note to self: No more Pizza Hut on Fridays for lunch. It makes me sleepy and lazier than normal.)
UPDATE. The invites are gone guys and gals. I gave away two on here and one to a friend before I wrote the post. Feel free to ask one of the two people I gave out invites too. Maybe they'll hook you up.
