Hey, so just thought I'd share this since I just got an email saying mine had shipped. I placed the order for it back in April and had completely forgotten about it. That's how popular this battery has been. I'll probably do a review on it once I get it here in the next day or so.
So what is it? It's the Lepow Moonstone 6000 mAh External Battery for smartphones and tablets available from Amazon. It retails for nearly sixty bucks, but Amazon has had it on sale for $29.99 since I placed my order for it back in April after reading a seriously great XDA review on it.
Honestly, go read that review and you'll know whether or not you want this. I read it and said "sold!" and rushed to buy it only to get the "will ship when ready" notifications for awhile, despite Amazon having it listed as in stock and available for Prime and even overnight shipping since that day. An issue I pointed out to them within two weeks of having not received my order.
The device itself does what you expect it to, it charges your smartphone or tablet when you're somewhere you can't get to a wall socket to plug in your device.
It comes in a variety of colors and with a number of extra goodies as Lepow's way of being awesome and saying thanks for purchasing the product. It also looks incredibly stylish when compared to similar offerings from other manufacturers.
But you're all adults here (minus the guy who complained on my Moto E review that it was done in an amateur style, but fuck that guy cause apparently that's something he does on all Lifehacker/Gizmodo/sub-blogs... complains and doesn't walk the walk and put his money where his mouth is and do better). I've mentioned I'm not necessarily a fan of people or those who complain about my write-ups without doing any of their own at all before, right?
But what would a friendly notice on something this neat be without pics? Useless, amirite?
So consider yourselves informed! I ordered the black one and naturally will be throwing it in my IT go bag with all my other work and play goodies.
