Yesterday was a bit difficult — “O” is almost as sparse as “I”.
We should have better luck today. This is one of the entries I had planned out from the beginning — I’ll stick to my original choices, you guys can have the rest to play with. :)
Note: A certain Purple One got stuck with just the bonus quote, mainly because it’s so damn hard to find any of his older stuff online — one of the perks of being so high up in the Illuminati corporate flowchart, I guess. (Must I point out that’s a joke?)
P is for The Alan Parsons Project
This is one of the songs my girlfriend and I originally bonded over back in the day — when you listen carefully to the lyrics that might seem a little creepy, but hey, you don’t get to judge us.
(Come to think of it, I’m kind of sensing a pattern here... )
Fun Fact: Alan Parsons was the engineer on Dark Side of the Moon, and as a Christmas present the Floyd gave him profit points. Not bad, considering the album spent over 800 consecutive weeks in the Billboard Top 200!
P is also for Pretenders
The Pretenders are one of my favorite bands, Chrissie Hynde is my favorite female vocalist, and this is easily one of my top five songs of all time. If you don’t like it, please don’t tell me, it will just make me cry.
(Did you know that Chrissie is originally from Akron, Ohio, and that after she moved to the U.K. she was involved in early versions of The Clash and The Damned? Wikipedia is cool!)
Well, my internet connection is still weirding out on me, so I’ll cut it short for today. See you tomorrow!
