I don’t have time to get into it right now, but trust me. I’ve been curious about where Immortal Hulk was going since it debuted, and I love puny Banner and Hulk enough to go along in good faith. Chapter Five did not disappoint.
To keep things simple, gamma-irradiated heroes have become essentially unkillable. Any day they take fatal damage, they rise anew once night falls.
Hulk and Sasquatch start tearing into each other and things get personal real damn quick. Readers who know me know I prefer strong characterization over plot or any fancy footwork in storytelling (although I do love me some fancy footwork). This issue puts characters at the forefront and it ends in a legitimately surprising fashion. I’ve got chills.
Go. Go pick up Immortal Hulk #5 and thank me later. You’ll be glad you did.
