Happy 9th birthday Observation Deck!

Nine years ago today the io9 staff created Observation Deck

Want to chat with your fellow io9ers about any topic you want? We’ve got an open discussion forum going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a place we call the Observation Deck.

Starting three years ago I put up an open thread post for each day of the Birthweek of Observation Deck. Each of these open thread posts uses a question or two as a writing prompt on each day, but they’re open threads, so if you want to ignore the writing prompt then feel free to do so.

Today’s topic, if you choose to discuss it:

What Kinja software bug have you most noticed this past year?

Alternate topic:

(Assuming you are visiting this page on a Monday) Do you have a case of The Mondays?

author’s answers: There are several, but I’ll call out one. Observation Deck has been slowly losing voices because people have been losing the ability to log into their Kinja account. That’s a really silly error that is directly impacting the quantity and quality of Observation Deck participation and I’m annoyed that Kinja’s tech staff aren’t providing enough useful help to people who need their help.

Most Sunday evenings I run a Pathfinder RPG session after which I try to get to sleep at a fairly reasonable hour. So I usually have a bad case of The Mondays, by which I mean I want to update my campaign files about the previous night’s session but have to focus on other objectives. The un-ending conflict between work and play.
