Just a heads-up for any Niners in the Los Angeles area.
From David Gerrold:
I will be chauffering Harlan that night. And I expect everyone to be on their very best behavior. I hate having to say this, but there have been incidents in the past, so I will say it.
If there is to be any signing at all — that will be determined solely by Harlan — and HIS rules will be strictly enforced. You can call him an ass, you can call me an asshole, I won't argue with you — but while the man has an unlimited amount of generosity, he does not have an unlimited amount of energy, and the goal here is to make the evening pleasant for everyone, but especially for Harlan. His visit is a gift to the LASFS, not an obligation.
Fans who abuse Harlan's generosity will be asked to step aside or leave. I'm not kidding. Please self-police yourselves.
For those coming this Thursday to the clubhouse and there is no parking in front or the near by areas, do NOT park on Aetna, which is the cross street between Oxnard and the Busway. There is no parking on Aetna after 9pm and you can get ticketed or towed. If you head just West on Aetna, you can park in the MTA parking lot at no additional cost.
