Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks

Me, Ein, Jill, a comfy couch, a 12 pack of Mt. Dew, a bag of Doritos, Silent Hill HD, and an entire weekend with absolutely nothing to do but play.

Illustration for article titled I know of few better pleasures in this world.

Silent Hill 2 is not only my favorite horror game, it's one of my favorite games EVER. I've played through it god knows how many times.I burned through 2 PS2s playing practically just this game.

It actually took me over a year to finish my first playthrough. It was my dad's game (yeah, my dad can be pretty awesome sometimes) and I was 11. I would play at night, when they were asleep and couldn't catch me playing it (because my parents actually respected that giant M on the box). Needless to say I usually went to school dead tired the next day, scared so badly I could never sleep after playing.

And I grew to love that feeling of heart-pounding, palm-moistening, scream-inducing fear.

Silent Hill 3 I also greatly enjoyed, even if it wasn't as good as 2 and I wasn't as scared by it. Of course, I was 15 before I could play it, so that's probably why.

And this weekend I finally had nothing to do. No computer problems to solve for asshole relatives, no house work to catch up on, no family events to attend even though I don't want to be there and no-one wants me there, nothing.

I started at 9 am Saturday and got finished with both games at around 4 am on Sunday. I almost wish I had a camera set up for how often the loud noises (and my shouts) made Ein and Jill jump and start barking/hissing at the TV (and Jill at me). We all slept well into Sunday afternoon.

So, how was your weekend?
