I'm not really a brand guy usually. I just tend to go with what is good. But if there was one company I would stand by irrationally and always support, it would be Image Comics. They have put out some truly amazing and groundbreaking comics over the past few years, like The Walking Dead, Saga, Chew, Morning Glories, and a host of other unique and amazing comics. If you want to experience a good story in comic form, they should be at the top, if not the top of your list.

With that said, I was very excited for the Image Expo and what they had planned for 2014, and they did not disappoint. Here is the breakdown of the keynote speech:

The highlights for me were horror comics by Grant Morrison and Scott Snyder, a sci-fi women in prison(or on a prison planet) comic from Kelly Sue Deconnick called Bitch Planet, new stuff from the Young Avengers team of Kieron Gillen and Jaime McKelvie, and a five year deal for Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips to do whatever. They announced a lot of stuff from a lot of amazing creators, it will be exciting to see more in-depth looks at each project.
