Glove & Boots’ Fafa and Mario play Farming Simulator 17. What epic inspirational video game are you playing this weekend?
I’ve found myself getting back into Diablo III with the Necromancer campaign. Damn, I’d forgotten how much fun that game was. Or how big. (Or how old — did this really come out in 2012?)
I scooped up a couple of 4X games on a Steam sale last week, Endless Legend and Endless Space 2 (same dev, same universe). I’m usually terrible at this genre, but I was curious enough to give them a shot — though they might also end up falling into the “sits on the hard drive for a year” category.
I may finish Zelda: Breath of the Wild this weekend — I have one dungeon left, plus the recent DLC — but I’m having too much fun wandering around. I might start a new game with the Master difficulty turned on, though, which effectively transforms the game into Zelda Souls.
That said, I don’t see a whole lot of exciting releases for the rest of the year, so I’ll probably end up catching up on stuff I haven’t finished yet. I almost restarted Arkham Knight over the July Fourth holiday, and I’ve had that for over two years now. I got sick of the whole “Google Maps” subgenre of open-world sandbox games pretty quickly. Maybe I’m just getting old. Or playing too much Overwatch.
