Blizzard just trademarked a new title in Australia and New Zealand - and it sounds like it might just be the name of the soon-to-be-revealed expansion for World of Warcraft. Are we seeing a return to Outland?

With Mists of Pandaria a year old, speculation about just where the new expansion will take players has been rampant, from the hoax trademarking of The Dark Below - which lead many to believe in an Old God flavoured expansion - to the very real trademark for Heroes of the Storm, which turned out to be the third name for the Blizzard MOBA formerly known as Blizzard DOTA and Blizzard All-Stars, unveiled at the last Blizzcon 2 years ago. However, Warlords of Draenor is undoubtedly a Warcraft trademark, and although it's not shown up in the US yet, its official trademarking down in Australia lends the title credence.

So, what could Warlords of Draenor bring to World of Warcraft? Well, obviously a much-anticipated return of the Burning Legion could be on the cards, as well as a return to Outland: an Outland revamped, seeing as the Level 60-70 Outland experience of The Burning Crusade is now, thanks to Cataclysm and its revamp on Azeroth, the oldest content in the game - and it definitely shows. An update with WoW's modern, streamlined design mechanics could certainly go a long way to making questing there much more appealing.

A return to Draenor also could return focus to the Blood Elves and more specifically the Draenei, the two player races added with The Burning Crusade, who have since been sidelined in the larger stories of the Alliance and the Horde (although both had slight resurgences in the additional content of Mists of Pandaria) - a return to two of the most popular races in the game would certainly please fans, perhaps alongside the much-demanded updated character models, which have long been in the works at Blizzard.

We won't have long to wait to find out if Warlords of Draenor is the real deal or not - Blizzcon 2013 begins in just over a week, running on November 8th and 9th in Anaheim, with all eyes on the World of Warcraft: What's Next panel on the Friday.
