Part of me is curious if I need to change my usual intro to #Wednesday but let's be honest, you all aren't here for my quips. You're here for the awesome pictures of libraries and to talk about books. You're not fooling anyone. :)

Today's picture is of Professor Richard Mackey's home library. He actually has one of the largest home libraries, housing over 7,000 books and manuscripts. I think I speak for all of us when I say "I want one.". Now let's talk books!

This week, I started and finished my re-read of Robin McKinley's The Hero And The Crown. I read it when I was about 12 but I didn't really get it. This time around, I understood it a lot better (I mean, A LOT), especially the relationship with Aerin and Luthe. The first time around, I just thought that Tor was someone that she settled for but now that I'm older, I see it better now. I'm still Team Tor, though. Wenchette knows what I'm talking about, lol.

I also see how that book has influenced my book preferences now, more specifically in my preference in heroines. I grew up with Sara Crewe, Mary Lennox, Anne Shirley and Aerin and all of these heroine had this gumption and fire in the pit of their stomachs. They made mistakes and probably did things for the wrong reasons but there was still something about these girls that made you feel for them and keep cheering for them. It's still pretty to find a good book with a female protagonist with that gumption and I miss them. Is it just me?

I'm still reading The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde. Still awesome.

So what about you all? What have you read this week?
