I know this sounds terrible. But I'm kind of glad I still live in a world in which 239 people in a 777 aircraft can disappear without a trace. It's weirdly comforting to know that even with high-technology, global positioning systems, satellite surveillance, military radar, air traffic control, worldwide communications, a camera on every street corner, and the number of people on the planet with phones and cameras with them at all times, stuff still happens that no one can know about. I'd like to think there are folks in the NSA, DoD, CIA, and NRO who are just throwing their hands up and saying "Huh, yeah, we got nuthin'".
