Marvel Adds More YA Books About Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Squirrel Girl

In their ever-increasing bid for world domination, Marvel has reached into the Young Adult novel market. Just this month, Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl, co-writer of the Beautiful Creatures YA series, was published and Marvel just announced plans for more books in 2016.

Margaret Stohl was write a sequel to Forever Red, of course, entitled Black Widow: Red Vengeance! which will see the continuing team-up of Natasha Romanoff and Ana Orlova (the Red Widow).

Tom Angelberger (writer of the Origami Yoda series) will write a book about Groot and Rocket Raccoon called Rocket & Groot: Stranded on Planet Strip Mall. This won’t be the first book to star the duo: Dan Abnett previously wrote Rocket Raccoon & Groot: Steal the Galaxy! which was Marvel’s first prose novel.

Eion Colfer, writer of the Artemis Fowl series, will write a novel about Iron Man, while Shannon Hale (Princess Academy, Austenland, and Ever After High) will co-write with her husband Dean Hale a book about Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) and another book about Squirrel Girl.

Yes, we are finally getting a book about Squirrel Girl. Even Ryan North can’t wait.
